WOW! Donuts and Drips

In 2018, David Sim sought consulting from the Collin SBDC and Senior Business Advisor Alex Plotkin for assistance in launching and managing his business. He needed guidance on justifying investments to venture capitalists, managing a tight budget, addressing human resource issues, and optimizing his hiring processes. Throughout this collaboration, Alex helped David strengthen is financial literacy, develop marketing strategies, and learn how to maximize employee talent. Consequently, the business, Wow! Donuts and Drips, secured a COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan in addition to his initial investments. Moreover, the business successfully hired and retained several employees and expanded to three locations under Alex’s guidance.

 

Bisous BisousPâtisserie®

Andrea Meyer, a long-standing client, experienced typical challenges with starting and growing her business, Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie®. The Collin SBDC played an essential role in addressing these issues by assisting with access to capital, offering  support in marketing, and providing valuable insights on labor and HR matters. Andrea benefited from the SBDC’s internal and external resources as she built her business. With our assistance in 2018, Andrea accepted a position into the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program. Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie® continued growing to millions in sales through that program and our assistance. Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie® received funding for its start-up and growth through Collin SBDC efforts.

 

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice

The Collin SBDC began assisting Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in 2019 when Megan Bourke was interested in starting a new business. At that time, the Collin SBDC assisted her company with developing a business plan, creating financial projections, performing market research, and educating heron factors to consider when purchasing a franchise.  As a result of this collaboration, Business Advisor Michael McClinton, was helped Megan open two franchises which helped create several jobs.
